I'm seeing some honey bees on the hyacinths today. Not sure this is one of my bees, it looks a little different to what I see at the hives. One I saw yesterday getting goose water looked similar and behaved a little hotter than my bees. Lots of movement, maybe bee hand waving. 👋 Maybe Italians? 🤔

There was a big bumble bee stuck inside this morning, furiously trying to understand the nature of windows. Instead of fetching a glass, I put my hand in front of it and it climbed onto my finger. The bee sat there happily as I walked it through the house. I could feel its little feet on my finger. Once we were outside, it flew off to resume its adventures.

The question is, after last week's close action piwakawaka experience, am I in danger of developing Francis of Assisi syndrome?

The source of the orange pollen. Later I saw a small native pollinator on on a dandelion but it flew off before it could be identified. As I was standing there a bee buzzed by and I looked in the direction it was going thinking it was just a honey bee going to the hives but even from 15 feet away I could recognize the Ashy Digger bee speeding away with determination.
