Doing it wrong…

...because I don't know how to do it right... Well, it's not really wrong, but according to a growing group of people, it is. So I feel some pressure because I feel that "I need to do it right", but I don't really know how. Or, I kinda know, but I don't have the spoons, expertise, or concentration, to change things... I wanna do things good, I don't want to get people mad at me because I "mess it up", but there is no one I know that could help me with the things that I "should" make changes with. Some people make these changes sound so simple, but I am sure that I am not equipped to "easily" do it as well... If only... 😔 […]

New Kitten release

• Fixes #236¹: The data preview pages in Kitten’s settings how handle circular references in the deserialised data (which may contain your custom classes if that’s what you were persisting in the database).

kitten.small-web.org

:kitten:💕

PS. Those pages are very rudimentary at the moment and are good for getting quick visual overview of the data you’re persisting. For a fully interactive view, use Kitten’s interactive shell (REPL)² to explore your data until I’ve had a chance to implement a more comprehensive visual interface.

PPS. You persist data in Kitten using the built-in JavaScript Database (JSDB)³ (Or, of course, you can install and use any other database.)

Was it worth it? 🏡

A journey with big changes lays behind me. I've reached my destination, which I hope will be my last one. Or at least one for a long time to come... The journey isn't over yet, but part of the traveling is. Now, I'm in place and I need to make things better as I stay a while... Of course I'm talking about the move that happened last year. In December 2023, I got about 22 hours to decide if I wanted to accept a (rental) house, that I never thought to have a chance with. On July 1st I got the keys. The weekend of 13/14 July, sweet friends helped me a shitload! 😉 As they helped me move most of my things from Cuijk to Herpen. And... That's where I am now. But... Was it worth it? 🤔 […]

It’s the first week of April, and the city is in full bloom with beautiful cherry blossoms. Although the small flowers have been drenched by cold rain over the past few days, the weather forecast says we can expect sunsh…

All these things I wanna do…

...but so many need money, energy, and some help... Moving house involves a lot of things! I've gotten the keys on July 1st last year, we moved my stuff in the weekend of the 13-14th of that month. And then... There was still so much to do... For those new to this blog, I learned in December 2023 that I was offered a small house. Totally unexpected, but exactly what I was hoping for! It was in a totally new area to me, so it meant leaving Cuijk after more than 20 years... And autism, ADHD, and changes.... Especially as I had never expected to be offered the house... I was not prepared! […]

Replied in thread

@f @ai6yr @briankrebs I think it's less of a "#political" question but an act of #SelfDefense and #MutualDefense at this point.

Re: #TechIlliterates that are unwilling to learn, act like a "#BenevolentDictator" and enshure they can't harm themselves in the sense that they don't get #sudo or other administrative privilegues and can't do any #persistent #changes.

  • And if that means they get forced to use #Tails then that's a "necessary evil"...

After all, societies almost everywhere ban people from driving motor vehicles faster than 6 km/h by people who actively refuse to even take basic exams and classes for a #DrivingLicense.

  • And I'm convinced one can do more damage as #TechIlliterate with a #PC than a single-cylinger two-stroke engine driven motorcycle...

Observate, adapt, adjust

After several months being in the new place, I kinda have a routine. It's not ideal yet, but it works for now, and I need to find a way to make it work even better. So, I've been observing my current routine, I've been focusing on how things go now, and what I could do to make it better. Or, what I think will be better, as I won't know till I've tried. I want to go back to the schedule that I had in Cuijk, as it seemed to relax me a bit better than my current routine does. Especially when I wake up way before the alarm is set to go off, and I can't sleep anymore... I get to the gym too early, it's still too "crowded" for my linking. The roads are still busier. I get hungry earlier, making it harder to resist snacking during the day. So I needed to write out my current schedule and then see if, and how, I could make adjustments to improve it. I know that this won't be easy, as somewhere this year, I'll also need to have surgery, which means that I have at least 6 messed up weeks where I can't do anything properly at all... […]

AuDHD – Breaking the routine

I've shared plenty of times that my routine is very important to me. During and after the move, I've struggled hard. During Xmas and new year, I struggled. And then, when I hoped that things would get back to normal again, there was another disruption. Big weather warnings ⚠️ due to ice and snow. It meant it could get dangerous to go to the gym, should the snow and icy conditions start earlier than they expected. So I had to change my plans. And even though I knew that it was the wisest thing to do, even though it was just one night, I struggled! And that makes me feel like I'm being silly. It just one night, things should be back to normal the next day... But yeah... It's not that easy! […]
