Abortion rights activists get into, take over lead of Tampa's "March 4 Life" forced birth parade

On the 1st of February, Tampa forced-birth marchers assembled outside a downtown Catholic Church and marched to a nearby park. This was Tampa's local version of the national annual January march against abortion rights. This was also 12 days after the installation of "King" Trump.

Abortion rights activists managed to enter the march, then take over the lead. The offical lead banner crew kept slowing down or stopping to open a gap, but abortion rights supporters were wise to this old countermove. At one point they reversed the roles, stopping and forcing the entire march to file past them.

At the park rally, abortion rights supporters actually HAD THEIR OWN TABLE, and advanced towards the rally from that position. This diverted some of the rally participants to forming a front line at the back of their rally.

While some verbal sparks flew, punches never did. Things stayed entirely peaceful. At no point did the police threaten either side either.

Who remembers #Christo wrapping the #Reichstag in #Berlin?
1995 it was. It was a big thing at that time.
A few weeks after the event a not-so-close friend gave me a plastic bag with about 50 pieces, 5 cm x 5 cm -all made of a plastc fabric and on one side silvery coated.
He told me he got this from someone he knew who worked for the Christo-team and that this bag contained pieces of the original wrapping.
Never found out if this was true.
This piece is the only one I have left.

Eingewickelt! - Wrapped!

#Zollverein. The building is wrapped in white plastic sheeting to protect visitors during the #maintenance and repair work. It looks like the world-famous packaging artist Christo - who died in May 2020 - had a hand in it!

In 2017, the location ‘Lago d’Iseo’, was chosen by the wrap artist Christo and his partner Jeanne-Claude to create a work of art: ‘The Floating Piers’. It connected the village Sulzano with the islands Monte Isola and San Paolo. It’s an absolute amazing and beautiful place and I imagine the artwork of the golden pathways must have been magical in these surroundings.

I took this photo earlier today of our local resident male red-tailed hawk, Christo, as he perched on top of a building with the moon rising behind him.

This was shot at 1365mm with a Canon SX70 bridge camera. The quality isn't as good as my usual DSLR, but I think it produces a pretty good image considering the distance - the building is 16 stories high, plus a peaked roof.

The artist Christo’s Pink “Surrounded Islands” project from high above Biscayne Bay (off the coast of Miami).

My friend had recently obtained his pilot’s license so naturally we wanted to fly over the islands to get a bird’s eye view. These are a few of the Kodachrome slides I shot.
