We have a clematis “mound”.

This is the most crazy plant in our yard. It used to climb the whole height of the corner of the house, about 50ft. And then it REALLY got out of hand. It kind of died back a couple years ago but it is back at full force!

This is having a good year! It was badly hit by that terrible winter we had a few years ago - my garden dropped to -12! Thankfully, it's bounced back and is looking better than ever.

An unknown Clematis montana thanks to the label being long lost. It was one of the first things I planted in this garden.

Die erste Clematisblüte in diesem Jahr.

Eine zarte, vierblättrige rosé-weiße Blüte mit einer grün-weißen Mitte hat sich der Sonne zugewendet und weit geöffnet. Im Hintergrund ist ein brauner Holzzaun zu sehen, an dem sich die Clematispflanze mit weiteren frischen grünen Blättern und Knospen entlangrankt.

Als erste Clematis blüht die sogenannte Bergclematis oder auch Himalayaclematis (Clematis montana).
Sie läutet sozusagen den Blütenreigen der Waldreben ein. Bei geschickter Auswahl blüht es dann von April bis in den November.

Ein Garten ohne Clematis ist möglich, ...

Eine vierblättrige fast weiße Blüte und rechts daneben eine helle runde Knospe.
