Found this in a discount bin a number of years ago. Assuming it would be terrible (gorgeous movie star tries her hand at music - oh joy 🙄) I picked it up. On the back, it reads, 'Produced by David Andrew Sitek' (TV on the Radio). Wait, what? So I bought it. Turns out, it's an album of all Tom Waits covers, and her voice is super low, not at all the ultra pop I was expecting. Oh, and David Bowie guest vocals on a couple tracks. No big.

I don't think it was critically well received, but this is a weird gem!

Okay, I couldn't resist it, I bought myself the copy of Reinhard Kleist's Low graphic memoir of Bowie's Berlin years I got in for the bookshop...

Loved Reinhard's work since his Johnny Cash graphic biography. Was told one reason the publisher translated that one was they'd seen us writing about it in it's German form on the Forbidden Planet Blog (RIP) & sought it out to do in English, which made me happy.

Heute Nacht hatte ich geträumt, dass #DavidBowie in den 80er Jahren mal #JamesBond im Film verkörpert und er seine Gegner eher durch geschicktes Bequatschen bezwungen hat.

Leider hat der Wecker der weiteren Filmschau einen Strich durch die Rechnung gemacht. Ich hätte gerne gewusst, wie es weitergeht. 🙂
