Back when our youngest two were co-sleeping with us, our nights were long and painful. But we persevered, because love.
I drew this diagram of our sleeping arrangement for posterity. As you can see, I spent most of the night hanging off the bed and being punched by flailing arms.
Somehow we survived.
Added a new section to my page about #diagram generators, mostly covering online tools https://felix.plesoianu.ro/languages/diagramming/
This image captures the intricate web of train movements at Manchester Piccadilly, illustrating the organized chaos that underpins urban transport networks. The digital representation of interconnected routes and live timing reflects the dynamic flow of city life and travel.
Yes, it's confusing, but that's how star systems work: nested pairs of binaries. In principle they can be scaled up indefinitely, though eventually you reach a system that's more Omega Centauri than Tatooine. My rendition of an octuple system, "Eight star system diagram".
I just released a new version of ziaplot, my Python package for drawing geometric diagrams, charts, and discrete data plots. While the well-known plotting libraries focus on plotting discrete data points, ziaplot treats geometric diagrams, such as this unit circle illustration, as first-class citizens. No trig calculations or discretization required from the user.

#WhatsMissing: a #TUI-based #Office #Suite using modern & lean file formats:
A #markdown-based #Layouting & #DesktopPublishing tool that can basically handle #LaTeX and spit out #HTML as well as #PDF…
A #TSV (because #tabs are better than #spaves and people use commas if they follow Genevan Nomenclature of Mathematics; also it should just store data, not manipulate it (or even if it should only display the results when asked to and instead store the Function for the cell I.e. =A1*B1
…
A simple and elegant #presentation tool (may just be a few presets for the #Editor)…
A small and nifty #FormulaEditor that allows converting regular math formulas pleasingly by converting them into LaTeX - Syntax for use in said documents.
Bonus points if it's also a scientific calculator with formula plotter supporting 2D and 3D outputs as well as export into tables.
A #database & #API tool that allows downloading, uploading, syncing and comparing #SQL and #NoSQL-DBs, their entries as well as queries.
A #notetaking tool that integrates with #git and allows both #versioning and #collaboration this way...
A minimalist #TUI menu that may also help setup #versioning (i.e. #git) and #collaboration (i.e. #Nextcloud) and #sync (i.e. #SFTP / #SSHFS, #SMB, Nextcloud, …) as well as other nice settings for most things.
A draw.io - alike #diagram editor that can handle #XML and also basic markdown as import & export language and has powerful self-layouting options.
A #terminal #screenshot tool alike the one The DOS compatibility card offered with #DOSCLIP ...
OF course given that (almost) all of this can be done with #neovim and a few other tools it's unlikely to get made...
Part of today's puzzle: Storing two linked lists in the same shared space/memory. Here visualizing the lists over time when allocating and freeing task slots (for coroutine scheduling) from a finite pool. The two list heads are shown on the left. EOL items are sentinels marking the end of each list.
Btw. It's a v. similar approach as used in https://thi.ng/idgen (there I also support ID versioning, but unnecessary here...). The stuff seems straightforward enough, but always find having diagrams like this massively helps with implementation...
Shout out to the always enchanting Hertzsprung-Russell diagram, which said hello to again in our most recent #podcast episode!
What's your favorite type? Main sequence? White Dwarf? Supergiants?

CryptPad 5.4.0 is now available on GitHub!
This version introduces two major new features: new #Diagram application & 2 factor authentication using time-based one-time passwords (#TOTP). We are now also supporting officially #Docker deployments.
We added a feature to easily destroy documents, fixed issues with #Forms & OnlyOffice documents. Under the hood we updated dependencies (#CKEditor, #Mermaid) & finally got rid of Bower.
For more information please see: https://github.com/cryptpad/cryptpad/releases/tag/5.4.0
#NaArMaMo for 3rd August.
I really don't know, I didn't sleep well okay?
About 60-90 minutes, plus a bit of time on cat studies beforehand.
Does anyone recognize this #Medieval #Diagram
Source is BAV Ott.lat.877 f.1r. I think this was originally a flyleaf that just had the title of the work (Bede's _Historia Anglorum_), but the cruciform thing is puzzling me
