According to an investigation by the environmental organization #Greenpeace, #Russia is using its fleet of nuclear-powered icebreakers and the reluctance of some of #Ukraine's allies to comply with sanctions imposed on it to sell millions of tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to EU ports, including #Bilbao, #Rotterdam, and #Dunkirk.

#Dunkirk 10 minutes before the sea came right in at top speed!

#Oppenheimer is finally free to stream so I guess I'll be watching that this weekend. I'm pretty close to sorting #ChristopherNolan into the same bucket as I have #RidleyScott in these days, a hollow mover around of giant toys. But then, I did like #Dunkirk so.
Until the 2017 #movie #film of the same name, directed by #ChristopherNolan, I always thought that #Dunkirk was in #Scotland

Then it’s clearly French and not like someone squished together #Dundee and #Falkirk
@canadaehx I'm sure there were many wives of HBC factors and others who lived extreme hardships and had amazing stories. Small is one, and there was also Nahoway, the gg grandmother of Campbell Clouston, the Canadian hero at #Dunkirk.

Interesting. Skylark IX, a Dunkirk Little Ship which helped with the Dunkirk evacuation during World War II is to be restored and turned into a floating museum on the River Clyde.

Most importantly, it pushes the narrative that it was Britain as it exists today – and not the one with a global empire – that stood alone against the “European peril”.
[....] Nolan’s erasures are not limited to the British. The French army deployed at Dunkirk included soldiers from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and other colonies, and in substantial numbers. Some non-white faces are visible in one crowd scene, but that’s it. The film forgets the racialised pecking order that determined life and death for both British and French colonial troops at Dunkirk and after it...'
