What can I say, I'm a green gal 🤷‍♀️😂💚. Anywho, something I do on occasion is create a series of paintings using the same color palette but different techniques. I love how it makes them similar but not quite. What do you y'all think 👀? Desert Lily ArtistryI've determined that background color really makes a difference lol 😜. The more I look at the cactus flower palette over the light blue background; the more I see tropical rather than desert lol. I don't mind though. Some of these blooms turned out beautifully 🥰. Fun Fact: these ornaments are also a prime example of why layering your paints from thickest to thinnest/most fluid for Shelee blooms matters. The pinks I used are older and thicker, and while I thinned them before painting, I only did so sparingly because I didn't want to lose pigment. Desert Lily ArtistryI've been slacking in the posting department, primarily because I've been slacking in the photography department 😅, but today I'm sharing some more of my testers for the cactus flower color palette that I've recently found inspiration in 😃. On the left are some Shelee bloom swipes, and on the right are some traditional Shelee blooms. The top ones had the paints layered with pinks then yellows then greens, and the bottom two are the reverse. NGL, that top right ornament started out much better, but I spun it too hard, and it went flying off my spinner 💀. Thankfully, it landed facedown but at an angle against the wall of the tub I spin my work in so I was able to salvage it. Sort of *crickets*. Overall, I do like the results, but I don't love them. Since those bright pinks aren't showing up anywhere near enough I'm going to have to make some adjustments there 🤔. What to do.
