A decade of tangled tech debt came due today for me. In my defense, much of it was locked in during my hiatus from this job, when these bits of infrastructure were being stood up by very junior administrators with lax supervision. Not really their fault, I was not there to ask the right questions when they needed them.
But basically I need to rebuild/update/rethink a production environment with dozens of hosts and hundreds of customer VMs. No one else is going to.
The IT person who mismanages our systems remotely (meaning another time zone) somehow erased the student WiFi in our building. This is the next to last day of mandatory state testing, and I have students here who cannot do anything but wait.
I would say #FML, but it's honestly NMFP!
Well I finally know what's wrong, in the words of the doctor himself after an MRI-
"Yea, you're gonna be here a few days because you have possibly the biggest abscess I've ever seen figure out how to get into a lung,".
At least he had a sense of humor,I get a better room, and a more comfy bed now.
Also slightly terrifying.

Good News!
I don't have pneumonia again.
Bad news- it's far worse and I literally have a cavity, or abscess, or some kind of other infection in my lung instead where the pneumonia was, which explains why I was coughing up blood.
Need more tests, but I'll be here all night!

Oh look, it's 3:17 pm and I haven't had a good breakpoint yet today to switch to my good computer with the non-backwrecking chair.

Everything bad has come to fruition.
Tariffs directly impacted my last local friend so he's no longer talking to anyone. He is no longer giving me an SSD that was held as collateral as a result.
My lemon phone is confirmed to have broken NFC, sensor dust, and a deauthenticated screen. I'm done. I told the shop as soon as a 1TB 13 Pro Max shows up (or 512GB) to let me know. I wasted $7 on blank NFC cards that don't work. He wasted time adding cards to Apple Pay only to find out it doesn't work. He has no business coming in so he may have to stop operating if he can't pay the bills.
All that on top of tasteless food at home and a roommate that wishes I was dead. FML. I really am better off dead. I'm the most vulnerable I've ever been and I'm ready to snap. @actuallyautistic #aspie #aspielife #FML
This morning the phone app on my #Android #Pixel asked if I wanted to turn on scam detection. I was in the middle of dealing with a billion things, so I didn't read carefully enough and said yes. It brought me to the settings screen, which says, "Download the Android AI Core model to use this feature" and immediately started the download.
Wait, this is AI crap? No thank you.
But there's no way to stop the download and no way to turn off the feature until the download is finished.

A lot of them now say their batteries are good for ten years. We replaced all our old ones with these a couple years ago. Now I just have to remember when 10 years are up. And tbh, I’m not at all sure when exactly we replaced them all. #fml
Well this is fun. The college has two different types of "late start" courses. I'll give you three guesses as to which one I thought I was teaching, and which one I'm actually supposed to be teaching. (Hint: it's the one that started Wednesday, not the one two weeks from now. #fml
