@kim yes and the smell! My partner’s car was given to us by a kind family member which is lovely, but it has a #fragrance in it - from some kind of cleaning product maybe? - that just Won’t Go Away. Fragrances are more than aesthetic unpleasantness for me, a brief exposure makes my airways swell for a few hours, longer makes me sick for days or weeks. After years of airing this car, cleaning it, the fragrance is still there. Anything or anyone who has been in it comes home covered in it & needs to be washed & aired. Whenever I have to go in that car I wear a n95 mask, but have to wash my hair & clothes afterwards. I keep my lovely old Citroen Pluriel running, tatty as it is & with doors that don’t open or don’t lock, solely bc I can’t safely use the other car. Could not imagine buying a new car! #ActuallyAutistic sensory profile is fun 🤷🏼‍♀️

Bukhoor achieved! The Turkish censer was too fiddly even with the chain, or rather I don't have the cultural memory on how to handle it well, so went with what's probably a family heirloom at this point, a Malay-style one. The big one is where the whole charcoal and incense/oud goes in, the smaller one is where you store the resins, oud, or incense. The tray is also heavy. Pretty sure the whole thing is bronze but I'm just guessing.

Anyway unlocked family lore on how one of my Arab aunts uses them in the mornings.

On a small metal tray, there's a metal fluted container with a cover and handle with smoke coming out of the holes on top. Next to it is a smaller container in the same design but no handle. There's a pair of tongs next to them, and a small perforated metal dish. There's no other ornamentation on the metal.

As far back as I can remember, I've been able to smell the first significant snowfall of the season. My husband says snow has no scent, but I swear I smell it. The fragrance is a bit like a bit like ozone and the faintest whiff of dust to me. I rarely smell it later in the season. It seems to be a one and done sort of aroma.

Does anyone else smell it?

These fragrances look interesting. An article on Atlas Obscura pointed to a book smell fragrance from this site, but their whole catalog is intriguing. I thought it was going to be like Demeter fragrances which had their heyday in the early 2000s with scents like Dirt, Tomato, and their own bookish scent Paperback, but the fragrance names at CB I Hate Perfume seem more conceptual.
