A very hot day yesterday. This is the view from the grave of Lee Alexander McQueen at Kilmuir on the Isle of Skye.
McQueen (1969–2010) was a British fashion designer and couturier. He founded his own Alexander McQueen label in 1992, and was chief designer at Givenchy from 1996 to 2001.

His funeral took place in London in February 2010. His ashes were later buried on Skye. His Skye ancestry had been a strong influence in his life and work.

In north-west Scotland, a strait of sea called The Minch separates the Outer Hebrides islands and the mainland of Scotland. It is a sea channel of the Atlantic Ocean, between 14 to 45 miles in width and reaches a great length of 70 miles. This view is across to Harris a distance of some 30 miles. Four bands of colours: the blues of the sky, the pinks and lavender-greys of the mountains of Harris, the blues of the sea and the greens of the grasses on Skye. Note too a herd of fine cattle on the edge of the field…
