Looks like I found a new species, a hybrid between plant and animal. It's sitting on the hiking trail and looking like it's feeding.

A branch with green needles lie on the hiking trail in a way that it looks like a small strange creature is taking in food.

No, this is not #ShawnTheSheep.

A small brown grayish stone sitting on top of a big dirty white stone, both round, and together resembling the shape of Shawn the sheep. Next to it is a stick with a snail house on top that looks like a hiking pole. All this is stitting on a moss covered old tree root, slowly rotting away.

Same thing as previous image, just from a different angle.

A straight, narrow path stretches into the distance through a dense woodland. The path is covered in fallen leaves, and tall, thin trees line both sides, creating a natural tunnel effect. The branches meet overhead, forming a green canopy that filters the light. The ground is dark and moist, suggesting recent rain.

#Hiking #Today showed me some wonderful views on my favorite small #Waterfall. It has turned icy again and offers an amazing show despite being small.

A small waterfall, still not completely frozen but not far from it.

The base of the waterfall. One can see the icy columns grow upward while the water rains on top of them and freezes.

Water party freezes to create transparent ice crystals which in turn reflect the water flowing over, under and around them.

Another smaller waterfall, a little further down that ravine. Water and ice behave the same, forming the same icy things only with different shapes of course.

Brainard Lake Recreation Center in Colorado is a glacially carved valley in the continental divide that leads to this magnificent body of water. There are various trails to get there, and the views of the subalpine trees along the way were breathtaking- as was the hike!
