Phil M0OFX<p>Does anyone have an archive of historical Octopus Agile price data? About a year of it would be good. I'm trying to optimise a battery storage charge timer algorithm and need some test data. <a href="https://digipres.club/tags/homeassistant" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>homeassistant</span></a> <a href="https://digipres.club/tags/octopusenergy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>octopusenergy</span></a> <a href="https://digipres.club/tags/OctopusAgile" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OctopusAgile</span></a></p>

Juliet Merida, Dum Tran Elf 🏳️‍⚧️<p>Well, it finally happened. I got bit by the <a href="https://merida.hair/tags/HomeAssistant" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#HomeAssistant</a><span> bug.<br><br>HA all the things!</span></p>
Pete Keen<p>Oh and VMSave is down, of course. And my blog. Jfc. <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/Kubernetes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Kubernetes</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/HomeAssistant" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HomeAssistant</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/Jellyfin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Jellyfin</span></a></p>
Pete Keen<p>Welp. <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/Kubernetes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Kubernetes</span></a> fucked me in yet another unexplainable way and I don't have time or inclination to figure it out. </p><p>Current priorities:</p><p>1. Get <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/HomeAssistant" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HomeAssistant</span></a> and friends up, probably as a VM. Thankfully I have backups.</p><p>2. Get <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/Jellyfin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Jellyfin</span></a> up. This involves restoring a Jellyfin Longhorn backup, syncing it somewhere temporary, and then installing Jellyfin somewhere with access to a GPU.</p><p>That's probably all I'll have spoons for tonight. Ugh. What a mess.</p>
Christopher Neugebauer<p>UPDATE 🤩</p><p><a href="https://social.coop/tags/HomeAssistant" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HomeAssistant</span></a></p>
Gary Parker :party_porg:<p>We’re now a three <a href="https://cyberplace.social/tags/Zigbee" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Zigbee</span></a> network family 😀</p><p>Let’s see if the <a href="https://cyberplace.social/tags/Tradfri" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Tradfri</span></a> bulbs work better with a Tradfri hub than the <a href="https://cyberplace.social/tags/Hue" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Hue</span></a> one. One would hope so…</p><p>I’ve got the hub configured, with one bulb on it. Integration with Alexa and <a href="https://cyberplace.social/tags/homeAssistant" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>homeAssistant</span></a> was quick and easy…need to set some time aside to move more over and reconfigure everything.</p>
Andrew<p>After a 6 month wait my kickstarter Unfolded Circle remote 3 turned up. It reminds me of the Logitech Harmony elite but no cloud or annoying re-syncs all the time. Native network, Bluetooth and IR for common devices and a two way <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/HomeAssistant" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HomeAssistant</span></a> integration for everything else. Pricey but I’ve been looking for a replacement for Harmony for ages.</p>
Ewen Bell 📸Realised tonight I can install AdGuard Home on my little <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.ewenbell.com/tag/homeassistant" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#HomeAssistant</a> box and now I have a new level of ad-free and tracker-free lifestyle in our home :)
Christopher Neugebauer<p>(details: California has non-bypassable charges, which are not counted as part of NEM, of about $0.031/kWh imported from the grid, so an overnight charge will only be offset by ~90% of the power I export during the day. In a NEM3/wholesale reimbursement tariff, the benefits are _considerably_ higher. <a href="https://social.coop/tags/HomeAssistant" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HomeAssistant</span></a>)</p>
Christopher Neugebauer<p>tinkerers with too much time on their hands have finally figured out how to set the current draw on my EV charger, so now I can get <a href="https://social.coop/tags/HomeAssistant" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HomeAssistant</span></a> to make our car only charge off excess solar energy when we don't need an urgent full charge.</p><p>Even on NEM2 in California, there's still a $2.46 out of pocket cost for every 100% charge of our car. That's not nothing!</p>

Cassidy James :gg: :fh:<p>Home Assistant nerds, I have a challenge: I’d like to grab the dominant colors from a given image, and set a room’s lights to those (individual) colors.</p><p>Use case: matching the RGB lights in my game room to the current game’s art, but not just a single color; a palette for 4 RGB lights.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.blaede.family/tags/HomeAssistant" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HomeAssistant</span></a></p>

HA's SmyConnect is cheap)<br>When it does fuck up, it REALLY fucks up (whole mesh can collapse suddenly, but its a rare occurance. Newer devices are making this less and less a pain to fix)<br>Not all zigbee devices coform to standard (but <a href="https://pdx.social/tags/HomeAssistant" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HomeAssistant</span></a> keeps getting more blueprints and what not to make them work anyway)</p><p>Limited to low data devices (so no cameras, speakers, stuff like that)</p>

No cloud needed. Internet down? All the zigbee stuff continues to work. It is blazing fast (with exceptions). Its much lower power drain than wifi devices. It's mesh - nearly every plugged in/wired in device extends the range.<br>Thre are plenty of super cheap zigbee devices and tbe majority of them work well! My fave are the switch modules that go inline on power cords at like $5 to $10 per (before Trump tarifs)</p>
