This morning i listened in to #yyccc budget hearings for a couple of hours. During that time, council heard the concerns of 22 speakers—but only four of them were not white. By contrast, ~40% of Calgarians identify as a visible minority.

As a visible minority myself, i wonder what needs to be done to ensure we get equal opportunities to have our voices heard. Whatever is being done is obviously not enough.
