Just understand that iPad Air 2’s, and god knows how many other “legacy” devices that actually still work perfectly fine, CANNOT be updated beyond 15.7.9. I have my Air 2 open and on a stand with <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/Trello" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Trello</a> right now, and THANKFULLY <a href="https://techhub.social/tags/MonaApp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#MonaApp</a> also still runs on it as do many of the other apps I use. But please, PLEASE - especially if your app just does text or checkboxes or notifications, right - because you’ve been able to manipulate that stuff since iOS1 or so - PLEASE don’t make your app depend on minimum iOS16 or 17. Mona didn’t. Follow their lead.People on older devices don’t give a toss “what percentage of Apple users as a whole are using iOSx”. Believe it. The Air2 works fine, as does my iPhone13 Pro on 15.4.1.

Mark Van AlstineI noticed something interesting today while editing a <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Shortcut" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Shortcut</a>. Seems that in 16.5 we now have a new file type / variable type to choose from. We can now select "Anything" as the type. I haven't been able to pinpoint how this type is shown but it seems to only appear in certain cases.
