Singin' In The Rain
Eden Court Theatre, #Inverness.

Fabulous production of SITR from the amateur company, Inverness Musical Theatre. Saturday night was the final night, and it was a handful of seats short of a full-house.

The production was very faithful to the 1952 movie of the same name. Both the singing and the dancing was of a very high calibre, and one could tell the cast were enjoying the experience, too.

Final number in the show, another rendition of "Singin' In The Rain", with all the cast members on stage. The leads are all wearing yellow waterproof jackets and hats. The rest of the cast are in their normal costumes. many lights are shining down on the cast, and there is a lot of dry ice. Photos are prohibited in the theatre. I had to take the photo surrepticiously.

Vintage Buses 🚌

This little blue beauty is the Leyland Lion LT5B, built in August 1934. It was powered by one of the first 6-cylinder 8.6-litre diesel engines and in 1947, it was re-bodied by Burlingham.

Operated by Alexander & Sons limited as fleet number P169, it serviced the Glasgow to Inverness route in the first 10 years of service.

P169 is part of the Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust collection at Bridgeton Bus Garage.

This is a single decker vintage bus, looking at it from the front with a slight angle pointing to the right. The stand-out feature is the large grille. The livery is blue at the top, a white band in the middle and blue at the bottom. It has black mudguards.

Just Sing & Kinloss Peace Singers
Inverness Cathedral, 9/3/25

A capella harmonies with 4 different choirs. The concert started with Voices3, the three singers were joined by 6 more to form Freewheelin'. Finally, 2 further choirs, Just Sing & Kinloss Peace Singers joined, to make the full ensemble.

Songs included: Clear Blue Morning, Down In The River To Pray, Finlandia, & Here Comes The Sun. The last was my favourite.

Great concert.

The three ladies of Voices3. They are standing on a low-level stage in front of the cathedral altar, and the usual choir seating. Music stands, at the front, have cards with the choir names.

The Glenmoriston Hotel is a great venue for a small gig. It has very posh surroundings, has an interesting dinner menu, (last night) there was a respectful audience who wanted to listen to the music, AND table service for the drinks. If only every gig could be like that. 😃

My folks moved to Ardersier many moons ago, I had no idea what an Ardersier was until I visited way back in 1989!!!!! I took a road trip on my m'bike, from Lee-on-the-Solent and what a road trip that was, loved it. Anyway, Ardersier is a coastal village not far from Inverness with a shoreline walk of just over a mile to
