Today I watched a clip of #Justin Jones' return to serve amid deafening cheers and applause, and heard him beautifully articulate his position and role as a duly elected representative of his constituency yesterday and the day before.
I'm looking forward to seeing the same restoration today for #Justin Pearson, and have delighted in watching him express himself so eloquently on the national stage, most recently especially in his interview with Ari Melber.
This is the most delicious irony I've seen over the past few days, that I would never have an inkling these two incredible and amazing young men existed, much less were so politically woke, were it not for the cult of ignorance and indignation that has so ensnared the feeble simple minds of #Tennessee republicans.
Not only did that arrogance grant Pearson and Jones a national platform to publicly advocate for and actively amplify the will of the people, it provided them the political capital in exactly the manner needed to further their message. The spark it ignited flamed much further and faster than did the peaceful protest and accompanying sound of a bullhorn for which they were targeted
This is what I'm talking about, y'all. This is #BlackLash
I'm excited to see it and more. It's long overdue
