Finished something a few weeks ago. And as always: no good pictures of me wearing the thing exist.

It's a knit shirt, based on the pattern "Green Machine" from an older #knitty issue. The yarn is Coast from Holst Yarn. I've made it a bit longer with mostly a longer lace portion to wear it as a normal shirt, not an additional layer.

At a gauge of 26 sts/10 cm it really is #slowfashion

Since "Fuck." Was done, I was feeling the post-project emptiness. I used the momentum to make a thin fleece lining for the mittens I've knitted a few years back & that were not great in our windy weather. I had no idea how this is typically done, I just went on vibes. Cut out the main pieces by tracing the mitten, sew around the edges, same for the thumbs, then cutting a slit and whip-stitching the thumbs on. Then I whip-stitched the lining into the mitten et voila!

How to purl the first stitch
Apparently this can seem a bit tricky, since I’ve received the same question by a couple of people.
The most important thing when starting a new row is to position the yarn correctly - no matter whether you are knitting or purling.
Here’s how to do it.

New fascination with #knitting
I started my knitting adventure with amiguri... making small items for my kids, apples, carrots, sprouts, potatoes. All on DPNs. Fiddly. But quick results and great practise for my tension and techniques.

18 months ago I finished my first sweater. And have made several since, some great, some a bit too tight/small.

And now I'm knitting this bunny flat, with incredible shaping incorporated. Really a joy. Too bad for my other WIPs.

Pattern by Claire Garland.

over the weekend I started unpacking my yarn and #knitting wips, pulled a couple of socks aside to try to finally finish. these are intended to be a gift so they're actually slightly too small for my foot. I started these in february 2014!!! 😂

It still needs sleeves and the bubble neckline, but the body of my third Shona Top is finished! This yarn is 40% Tencel and 60% Bamboo, which was a slippery splitting nightmare with my metal needles, but we're pushing through because it's so incredibly soft. #knitting
