The teahouse at Lake Agnes, by Lake Louise. The teahouse itself is aesthetic and fits perfectly as it is, nestled among the mountains. The food and tea? ... It was fine.

Remarkable location, completely worth the short hike, and a great setting off point for longer and even more remarkable hikes and views!

This is Lake Louise. It's actually the run off. The lake is fed by water coming off the glacier, and this is where it leaves to join the river.

Every once in a while the magic of modern travel blows my mind. This morning I was taking a walk around Lake Louise in Banff National Park, and snapped this photo.

And now I’m lying in my bed at home in San Francisco, almost as if it was just another day.

A snow-capped mountain with a forest on the left side of the base, rising from an alpine lake mostly frozen over but the thawing.

The water closest to shore has no ice covering, with beige stones visible closest to shore almost as if through clear glass and not water. As the water deepens further from shore it becomes a clear aquamarine color, before turning blue under the ice.
