I think I'm a code-jay
I like sitting at home jamming away, spending time tweaking things, able to think straight.
From-scratch is great and I'll always attempt that on occasion, but I'm happy to regurgitate code from recent sessions and not really write much on stage.
I love performance, but for now there is still too much adrenaline to be able to function clearly and keep track of what I'm doing.
Maybe these two things will meet in the middle and also I've very much against the idea of 'polished' code.

For me this is analogous to how I would write music for guitar and play it back. Or program an Akai MPC and mix the loops live with dubsiren.
I guess that would be live-arranging?

Interestingly I made Syntə with the intention of it being a 'live only' platform, I love the idea of that. I just find it hard to do code when I'm excited or with various levels of exhaustion.

In the same vein as the other post : introducing a more or less live coding language based on right winged french politicians screaming at a journalist. The way you ask the question determines the Audio pattern. But be aware that sometimes they go full berserk. And they blame their wifes, migrants or whatever they feel like it. I had to, sorry :)

been a while since this one was in the #livecoding scene but it's interested in learning some DSP so it can try making its own synth nonsense from scratch. Anybody got any recommendations for learning resources for learning DSP stuff (like, how to implement filters and such)?

boosts appreciated!

Today I tried controlling the Mainbow synth with TidalCycles @tidalcycles. only d1, d2 and d3 are making noise. Everything else is patterning the visuals, alongside modulation on the synth itself.

What I like is that this approach keeps everything in time to the music. Plus, if I have any other devices or software that uses Ableton Link for clock and sync then it'll be in time with them too! youtube.com/watch?v=J_Q-IIcz2T
