There's something about British theory of management that is impacting British football negatively, in terms of homegrown creativity and innovation. Something that apparently Spaniards and managers of other traditions are struggling less with.

The last British manager of a Premier League club to win the Premier League Manager of the season award was Tony Pulis, more than 10 years ago. The last English manager to do so was Alan Pardew, in 2012.

Erling Haaland's record of 111 goals in 265 Man City games is obviously outstanding. But I have an impression that a lot of those were "bonus" goals, scores when the outcome of a match was already assured, and which therefore didn't really matter. My sense is that he scores much less rarely when City are level or a goal behind.

Does anyone know of a way to quantify that and compare it with other goalscorers, to see if my intuition is correct?

One nil up with 15 minutes to go in the #Derby feels like the right time for me express my opinion about Matheus Nunes.

I just don’t get it. He’s a #ManCity player? Really? He’s lacking in the quality we have come to expect and I just don’t rate him. Give him back to Wolves. They’re more his standard than we are.

(Now watch him go and score. You’re welcome.)

I am conflicted about the #WSL final games today.
Whilst I think the #MCFC women’s team are amazing and obviously I support city and want them to win, I have a lot of admiration for Emma Hayes and what she achieved at #Chelsea and I also love a lot of the Chelsea Women’s team and they are great to watch. I think I prefer watching #WSL overall nowadays.
