Loving the distorted/glitch vibe of the new Lord Huron video. My memories are definitely like this.

Dec 26 2004 #tsunami still causes me anxiety. I didn't experience it by myself but I spent my honeymoon in Khao Lak #Thailand in 2003 and I was able to imagine how it felt to be there. So many people lost their lives. Our previous President (Niinistö) survived. #Finnish #Musician Aki Sirkesalo and his #family died in #KhaoLak. #memories #deaths I didn't even know what tsunami was before that day. Did it affect you?

In our #embroidery club, we often receive material leftovers from estates. These mysterious scraps had everyone shouting for me: 'That's something for you, you make art out of it! Doesn't it tell #stories like a #book?'
Indeed, it's from an old woman who became too old to #stitch. Did she cut her work? Why is it cut like this? Why were these scraps saved in a box? Did she play with them, hated them, hallucinated #memories? #Art begins with listening. @textilearts

This album instantly takes me back to our prized original D&D set which we managed to get in New Zealand somehow. Every time I hear it I am writing our first campaign again and drawing up maps. Such a time.

"The Old Hand Pump"
By Scott Loring Davis, Fine Art Photography https://pixels.com/profiles/scottloringdavis
As a boy, many, many years ago, one the chores my brothers and I shared, was to pump enough water very morning, to last our family for the day. - SEE MORE - https://pixels.com/featured/the-old-hand-pump-scott-loring-davis.html
On Not Carrying a Camera – Cultivating memories instead of snapshots

Fun Fact: At the end of 2008 / beginning of 2009, I bought a mini laptop — an Acer Aspire One, on sale because no one wanted them. Windows didn’t run on it for even a minute, but every other OS did. Including a version of "Hackintosh", which actually led me to get a MacBook Pro a few months later (which my parents are still using). It ran quite well.
But the OS that worked best and longest on that little guy was PC-BSD. I truly did everything with it. When I was flying around Europe during the most hectic years of my life, it was my trusty companion - always ready, always in my backpack. I have a special memory tied to it that will always make it dear to me, but it’s a private one
Oh, I almost forgot the Fun Fact: its hostname was always "acerone" - from Acer (Aspire) One, of course. But in Italian, "acerone" sounds like "big Acer", and considering its micro size (9 inches), it was truly ironic.

#ThrowbackThursday
Drake at home three years ago today. I miss you.
Earlier, speaking of FediMeteo, it reminded me of my grandfather (the reason is explained in the post where I describe the project: https://it-notes.dragas.net/2025/02/26/fedimeteo-how-a-tiny-freebsd-vps-became-a-global-weather-service-for-thousands/).
And this is his accordion, which my grandmother kept safe for years, knowing how much it meant to me as a keepsake of him. When I was younger, I could play it a little as he loved to teach me how to play it, and now I want to get back to it, at least enough to play a few tunes.
In memory of the times when, as a child, he would play it for me to cheer me up and to celebrate.
I still remember the first time I saw this at a friend's house. I had the normal C64 and his father had this "portable" version.
And I started dreaming of a computer that could always be with me. Maybe in my pocket.
Late 80ies...
