Steve RMade it out to the Reinhardt Redwood Regional park last weekend in search of clusters of ladybugs. Each winter they gather in big clusters. Some tree trunks have big patches of ladybugs.<br>

offbyone<p>New lens day today! Olympus 40-150 f4 PRO as a walking around travel lens. Bounced back and forth between this and the Panasonic 50-200 f2.8-4 but the lighter weight and lower cost outdid the extra stop at the wide end and the marginally greater reach. Very happy with it so far - couple of hours at the zoo on the g9 and it has worked out really well. Plus weight - very much the right call.</p><p>Lens kit looking like the 12-60, 40-150 and the Lumix 15. offbyone<p>PLUS (and let me climb up on my high horse here) </p><p>can we please hope for a diminishing of the full frame ("so called" /the incredibles) fad, please? amazing cameras, incredible lenses no doubt at all but there is a trade off, there is always a trade off, and smaller sensors make so much sense in so many ways</p><p>and OK, I shoot micro 4/3 and we are not a cult, you're a cult but consider</p><p>- really really good stabilisation, fantastic for users at all stages of their shooting<br>- great depth of field, which is a good thing (razor sharp and cellophane thin depth of field looks amazing, but your bokeh'd out pics could be taken basically anywhere, you aren't letting the broader environment speak in the image.<br>- the options for light weight and weather tolerant gear, for me this is a big one and I could talk about this a lot but TLDR I want to be able to feel comfortable taking my gear out in bad weather or challenging conditions<br>- also I lean towards buying lower priced equipment. if it gets wrecked it happens and it stings but it's not a budget busting event</p><p>4/n</p><p><a href="https://aus.social/tags/photography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>photography</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/camera" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>camera</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/micro43" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>micro43</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/mft" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mft</span></a></p>
