This century-old piano was in dire need of a team of renovation experts.
Broken keys, ivory soiled by years of use, there's a lot of work to be done to make the piano operational again.

if anyone reading this is in the mood, scan the front and back covers and spine of your favourite issue of MAKE magazine (or similar) and shoot it to me?
I'm gonna shrink it down to 1/12 scale and put it on a bookshelf in a mini maker diorama.
I've started scanning the books I want on the shelves and will share pics when the scene is in place

Ugh after some unasked advice about how to improve the NMM my brain went 'apparently it's shit' and I spent more time on the NMM.
No, my people, it's not going to get better. I'm learning slowly, and this model is too complex for me, and oil paint is complex stuff.
The end result is pretty good after all.
Soon visible in a photo gallery near you! *
* actual nearness will depend if you want to see it IRL (exhibition in June), or "just" online.
When you spend more than 2 hours setting a complex composition of miniature figurines with unstable props, making multiple attempts at shooting a sequence of photos for focus stacking, then sort and clean the props and the mini studio, import photos in Lightroom, and… see everything is in JPEG…
