#NASA demonstrated a small #rocket #engine that burned #methane + #LOX in it’s Project #Morpheus craft, intended to test both the engine and technology to allow for more accurate and safer landings of robotic landers.
The #CH4 and #LiquidOxygen are stored in the silver-foil covered spheres, with the engine in the middle.

Congratulations to the United Launch Alliance for their first launch of their #methane LOX powered Vulcan-Centaur.

In order for #NASA to test #hardware and #software to allow an #interplanetary #spacecraft to select a landing site amid a field of hazards, it built a “#lunar #hazard field” was built at the end of the Shuttle Landing Facility, creating a #MoonScape in #Florida..
The Autonomous Landing and Hazard Avoidance Technology, ALHAT, was to use #LIDAR to scan the surface and identify safe landing zones and steer a landing spacecraft toward safety and away from danger.
It was placed on the #methane-burning Project #Morpheus vehicle meant to test methane propellants.

I feel like I'm behind but I'm finally starting Sandman. It's been a million years since I read the comics this is based on so my memory of the source material is very dusty. But I liked the first episode. It "felt" like what I remember in live-action form. Looking forward to more

Finally! #Sandman is renewed for season 2 three months after season 1 was released.
