In #Ieper in België hebben #archeologen resten van een ‘#motte’ gevonden die tot ca. 1130 een verblijfplaats was voor de #graven van #Vlaanderen. Het gaat om een gracht met daarbinnen een kunstmatige heuvel waarop een #kasteeltoren stond met een verdedigingsmuur rond de heuvel.

Überraschung: Warum Insekten wirklich von Licht angezogen werden

Von etwas angezogen sein wie die Motten vom Licht - das Sprichwort kennt wohl jeder. Doch warum werden Insekten buchstäblich vom Licht angezogen?

Forschende filmten #Insekten mit einer Zeitlupenkamera, um mehr über ihren Zug hin zum #Licht zu erfahren. Dabei stellten sie fest: Egal ob #Fliege, #Käfer oder #Motte - die Insekten wenden dem Licht immer ihren Rücken zu. „Wenn die Leute im Alltag das Phänomen beobachten, sieht es vielleicht so aus, als würden die Insekten direkt auf das Licht zufliegen. Aber das ist nicht der Fall.“
