Probably going to delete this, but if you want to hear what kind of music I was working on ten years ago, here's a cover I did of Billy Boyd's The Last Goodbye from The Hobbit soundtrack.

I've been deleting my tracks off of Soundcloud and wanted to share this track one last time, even tho it's kind of cringe-y and I hear all the mistakes. But it's also kind of nice to hear how much I've improved since then.

I have a weird / eclectic collection of music. Recent additions include:

Big Lizard in My Backyard / The Dead Milkmen
Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes / Jimmy Buffett
Hard Candy / Madonna
Live at Fenway Park / Jimmy Buffett

Savage Garden / Savage Garden
Beautifully Broken / Jelly Roll
If I Were a Carpenter / Bobby Darin
RCA Country Legends: Don Gibson / Don Gibson

It's time for another #MusicMonday, and this time we are changing genre a bit — even if the music remains atmospheric and dreamy. This week I would like to recommend Carbon Based Lifeforms, in particular their 2006 album World of Sleepers. Carbon Based Lifeforms create meticulously thought-through electronic music, which probably fits best under the label psychedelic ambient if we need to find a label for it. I like how this music is not soulless or straight boring as a lot of ambient can be, but at the same time not too intense to be in the background. It is like a painting that fits well enough in the room to not immediately draw intention, but at the same time is interesting and touching when you look at it.
I like several of their albums, but I think World of Sleepers is a great place to start to explore Carbon Based Lifeforms. I also think it is one of their more beat-forward releases, which I personally like. Also, I am a sucker for the cover art.
