#Brussels Midi in May 2001: arrival of train #298, the overnight service from #Milan . The first car (a Belgian I6A) and the powerful #SNCB #NMBS Class 20 electric have been on the train from #Luxembourg onwards, leading the consist over the #Ardennes line.

#Oostende in the early 2000s: an #SNCB #NMBS Class 21 electric is hauling a rake of M4 type cars. They are still liveried in red, with the blue line on the white band designating the smoker’s section.
To the right we see the footbridge once used with the Cross Channel Ferries.

#SNCB #NMBS Class #AR46 railcars are very popular with Belgian museum railways: although withdrawn from revenue earning service long ago, quite some of them continue to operate on tourist routes, very much to the delight of the railfan and the photographer.

On the #Namur to #Arlon line across the #Ardennes hills in August 2005: a #Brussels to #Luxembourg #InterCity, worked by a group of #SNCB #NMBS #AM96 “rubber nose” units, is overtaking an #AR44 museum railcar which is on its way to a railfan event.

#Brussels Midi station in spring 2001: this is the #Oostende to #Cologne morning service, train #415, with a luggage van for bicycle transport right behind the #SNCB #NMBS Class 27 electric. Unlike most other trains on this route, this one required an engine change at #Aachen, the 27 not being a multi-current loco, able to operate in Germany.

#Brussels Midi station (I think) in the very early 2000s: the loco is an #SNCB #NMBS multi-current Class 16 electric, able to operate under 15 kV AC lines in Germany, in addition to the 3kV DC used in Belgium. This should be an international #IC #Oostende - #Köln vv. service.

Ik tel enkel de minuten vertraging die er zijn op het moment ik afstap/overstap. Elke vertraging onderweg die ingehaald wordt, telt niet mee. De dagen dat ik geen trein kan nemen, bv door staking, tellen ook niet mee.
Bijkomende telling: hoe vaak ik mijn aansluiting mis (net wel gehaald telt dus niet).
