Ist es nötig? Nunja, Paypal ist ein US-amerikanischer Konzern, aber noch bedenklicher: #Visa ebenso. Und gerade laufen ja Maestro-Bankkarten aus und werden durch Visa Debitcards ersetzt. Unsere komplette Kartenzahlung beim täglichen EInkaufen ist damit letztendlich in amerikanischer Hand.

My EU based alternative to #Patreon and #PayPal for donations is #Liberapay @Liberapay. They are in France, so under GDPR, Open Source, non-profit, they don't sell your data, don't take a cut but rely on donations instead and can do direct debit via SEPA/IBAN, so IMHO a Very Much Good Enough solution :) My yearly donations to #Forgejo and #Makertube are there now. (yes, they also support Stripe and Paypal for payments, but I prefer SEPA/IBAN to keep everything here ;)

Wobei man natürlich sagen muss, dass die Echtzeitgeschichte was kostet.
Pro-Move: ins Preis/Leistungsverzeichnis schauen. Für mich waren das 50 cent. Die hätte ich aber auch für eine "normale" Überweisung gezahlt. Sparkasse, ey. Aber okay.
