Music stats by Stats.FM

I've always loved stats, especially if things that I'm very interested in. While many people dislike Spotify for reasons, I still use it. When I find an artist or album I really like, I'll always try to find it on vinyl to add it to my collection. Unfortunately, the last year I've lot been able to get many records. First the expenses for the move and then Arwen started needing more expensive meds. And she is worth it, so I have to be a "bad music fan", until I can find a good deal on vinyl I really want and order that. I used to get the CD's

, but now vinyl is more popular again... Unfortunately, it's also more expensive than a CD. I've not been able to explore all the settings yet, as (when I start writing this) I just got the app. They did have a sale on a lifetime pro, so let's hope it's really a lifetime, and not till the next big overhaul...

I requested my Spotify stats from Spotify, and I just got them and I imported them to the app. Now, let's explore some!

Making AI cover art

I have several playlists on Spotify. Yeah I know there may be better options out there, but I try to support the artists as much as I can by buying their albums in physical as well. It's just a bit hard to spin a vinyl while walking Arwen.

But anywhoo... I started to create some music inspired covers and I liked that... So with the free AI available to me, I tried to experience with it. Some worked out very well, some are just OK, but I didn't want to try too many times, as I know how much energy and all it uses to make these things. And now I want to share them, so maybe others will want to use them as well...

I did my best to abuse the AI some more to create decent enough alt texts for the people that rely on those. I tried to check them all best as I could, but my AuDHD sometimes misses things... So sorry if they're not always 100% accurate. […]

Hier kommen die #Playlists der gestrigen #Samstagsshow auf #SchenklRadio .

Über unseren Account auf #Spotify (https://open.spotify.com/user/schenklradio) könnt ihr die Titel mit leichten Abweichungen nachhören, hier kommt der Screenshot dazu. Ich habe euch wie immer ein bissle was zusätzlich zu den Titeln meines Katalogs aus meinem #Schallarchiv gespielt - das ist natürlich nicht Bestandteil der Playlist auf Spotify. Drum besser live dabei sein!

Die Lösung des #x_song_raetsels: Jon Flemming Olsen, dessen Song "Deine Mutti (Blame It On The Boogie)" in der Playlist zu finden ist. #AltgegenNeu ging zu Gunsten von The Alan Parsons Project "Pipeline" aus. Das #Soundschnipselraetsel fiel diesmal meinen Umbauarbeiten im Studio zum Opfer.

16 Stimmen gab es für die richtigen Einsendungen im Vorfeld, dazu 4 für die eingeschränkte Auswahl ab der 2. Stunde. Und in Stunde 3 dann 3 Boosts.

Der Studioplattenspieler schwieg - ebenso wegen des Umbaus. Kommt aber in den nächsten Sendungen wieder zum Einsatz.

a playlist isn't the same thing. i hate spotify but they let me collab our life story soundtrack together. if it weren't for appleOne she'd probably never use apple music, and she's purely streaming i don't get it either. for me it's my own audio via plexamp/plex, music.app, or applemusic because atmos and airpods are astounding, i played _automatic for the people_ and cried. #plexamp has eq presets for DACs and headphones you should check that out too, but collaborative #playlists are amazing.

It was worse than we imagined, folks. #Spotify knowingly made many fake artists accounts and injected them into #playlists in order to the pocket the difference.

This means that they have been fixing the numbers to steal money from artists by artificially creating a statistical segment to cut away margins from actual #artists and #musicians.

This is bad, folks. This is really, really bad. It's actually quite evil.

Fedizens, is there any #federated #music scrobbling/sharing place where people can share #playlists and stuff (not the music necessarily, just the metadata)?

I'm seeing a lot of apps that link to #Spotify for playlists and then do the actual downloading/playing from local files or some other source like YouTube. It would be goos to get rid of that initial Spotify dependency, at the same time reclaiming control of our metadata

Interesting take on #Spotify and algorithmic playlists. I've always hated the generated playlists - far too generic sounding to me. But I'm thinking of moving off Spotify (probably Apple Music - cheaper due to its bundling with Apple One) because of it's crappy reputation and "ghost artists". What say you?
