@babaq @tensob_ Nově tým #plexamp. Ta appka je dobrá a upřímně? Nejspíš jsi většinu své knihovny stejně nikdy neslyšel, takže i doporučení v lokální databázi můžou být zajímavé. Jinak můj argument stejný jako ty: tracky a alba záhadně mizí, jak si kdo zrovna vykšeftoval práva. Chci to syslit, aby mi to nikdo nebral. Z toho si dělám výcuc do offline iPodu

I just put #PlexAmp on my phone and tried one of it's "DJs" and it's really good. I love how it fades into the next track. I'm curious how it's going to work when I'm not on my network. When I try to use Plex at the gym to watch a show while on the treadmill, it really doesn't work due to molasses downloads. That's even though I seem to be getting a good 5G signal there. 🤷

TLDR: Consider turning off “Loudness Leveling” if you use #PlexAmp.

Spent a chunk of time last night trying to figure out why music didn’t sound so good in PlexAmp compared to other apps. I was actually happy enough with the audio quality until I compared a track directly with Apple Music and realised there was a difference.

I got some new headphones recently and was faffing with them, trying to see if they support Dolby Atmos (they do, but not in Apple Music for some reason). In the process of doing that I found that compared to Apple Music, the same track in PlexAmp was somehow flatter, almost muffled. The file being played is a high quality one, it should be pretty much identical if it’s not playing Atmos (which it wasn’t) so this was confusing.

I was disappointed. I’ve pretty much stopped using Apple Music altogether but I want the best quality I can get. So I did some digging to find out what’s going on.

I logged into the Plex web app on my phone and played the same song… it was as good as when I played it on Apple Music. That told me the problem wasn’t the file at all, it MUST be PlexAmp.

Going through the settings, I disabled the EQ, no change. Then I spotted the “Loudness Leveling” settings under the Playback menu. In there, two things were turned on: Loudness Leveling and Limiter. Turning off Loudness Leveling disabled Limiter too.

There was no change immediately, but I quit PlexAmp and relaunched it and… the music sounded as good as Apple Music. 🥳

I’m sure Loudness Leveling has its uses but for me, I didn’t like what it was doing. I’m much happier with it disabled.

Plex types - is it worth springing for a lifetime PlexPass before the price goes up? Basically it gives me the same functions as iTunes Match (albeit in in a separate app from the streaming service, but also covers offline video), but for a one off cost rather than an annual sub. The extra features in PlexAmp seem useful, if not essential (seems like it is aiming for feature parity with the big streaming players). £100 one off payment seems pretty good value to me… #Plex #PlexAmp

Just had an urge to bust out the USB-C to 3.5mm adapter and listen to some #PlexAmp on my phone with wired headphones.

Bluetooth is easier, sure. But I'd legitimately forgotten how much better these Grado cans sound with music.

Days like today seem good to encourage people to purchase and own their music.

Aside from the benefit that you're not dependent on another service, you can also support artists, labels, record stores etc. too by purchasing from them, rather than huge platforms paying out a pittance while raking profits.

And managing and playing a digital collection doesn't need to be complicated, I've been using #PlexAmp for years now, and there's other services you can use too, take your pick.

I’ve been using #plex for over a decade. For some reason I’ve slept on #plexamp because I through streaming was all I needed. After hearing several people talk favorably about it I decided to throw my old collection in it. What a fantastic app! I feel like I’ve rediscovered a ton of music I love. The DJs and Stations are really fun and well done. It’s just a joy to use. Check it out if you have an old music library lying around.

I just bought a lifetime #plex pass, after trying it for 6 months or so. I only use it for #plexamp to stream #music #flac from my #synology #nas to my #linux laptop, #rpi with #allo #boss2 #dac and #android phone. I also created an account for my almost 80-year-old father so he can join my server and library.

I came from #roon which I enjoyed a lot, but due to different reasons I made the switch. Plexamp provides such a seamless experience, I really can't wish for more. Keep up the good work!
