#WritingCommunity who use #IngramSpark or people general #POD experience — advice needed re colour range for printing.
The ebook cover for my next release is mildly yellow; the print version comes out pretty much white. This has happened with a couple of previous books (apparently I like a pale cream colour in my covers), and I’ve let it roll, but I’d prefer this one to maintain a stronger yellow.
In the interests of not spending $30 a go (postage is a killler here) in adjusting the colour and ordering the proof, is there some way of knowing at what point the colour will be dark enough to be obvious?
(I was going to include a photo, but ironically enough, a cover that looks white to the naked eye comes out cream in the photo

On Friday, I asked my #POD printer to send me a bunch of samples of hardcover, softcover, B&W, and color printing on all their papers and bindings. They sent me about a dozen sample books of various sizes that showcase their work.
It's been about 10 years since I published a book. I know that #SelfPublishing is a much bigger thing now. But I've also heard complaints about POD quality. I'm VERY PLEASED with what I've seen in the past and what I'm seeing now from Lightning Source. (1/2)

Ich muss da nochmal was ausprobieren, weil ohne Vorbestellungszeitraum scheint es geklappt zu haben, das Printbuch bei Amazon direkt einzustellen. Aber mit Vorbestellungszeitraum schmeißt es die Bücher bei Amazon aus dem System, wenn die dann über Treditions Großhändler auch ans System geschickt werden. #PoD #PrintOnDemand
HA! Es war tatsächlich doch nicht meine Schuld, dass die Bücher von #Tredition an Amazon ausgeliefert werden. Ich habe gar kein Häkchen falsch gesetzt, weil es nämlich gar kein Häkchen (mehr) dafür gibt! Tredition schickt die Print-Bücher seit zwei Jahren immer und automatisch auch an #Amazon. ... Shit will fail gradually, but then more rapidly.
- The first few hours and days will be uneventful, but within weeks shit that didn't get setup to failsafe off will fail/leak/break and those tiny failures (i.e. leakage if drinking water lines) will slowly add up until they break shit to the point it can't be repaired.
Plus: They got neither replacement parts, nor tools nor materials nor exercise with it.
- Pretty shure none of these #RealEstate #scam|s even demand their "#tennants" to have any #FirstAid skills or even did a single fire escape drill from their oversized "#pod|s" (cuz most likely #apartments need to have windows , so they legally can't be called that).
IMHO those #BillionaireBunkers / #MillionaireBunkers / #DoomstayBunker thingies are just #scams knowing that the allegation can't be proven true until the scenario they get sold for actually applies.
- At which point there's obviously neither courts nor judges to prosecute them for...
So yeah, I give that to the operators: They do know how to scam people with more money than sense...
Ach, #Tredition ... Teil 547: Die gestern angelegten Bücher sind grad bei Amazon rausgeflogen, weil die ISBNs jetzt auf anderem Wege bei ihnen gelistet sind. 
Normalerweise sollte Tredition Amazon nicht beliefern. Und auch den internationalen Buchmarkt nicht. Mir scheint, die optimieren ihre Systeme gerade für Leute, die eine One-Click-Lösung wollen, aber bauen alles aus, was es für Leute attraktiv macht, die vom Bücherschreiben leben wollen. Außerdem kann ich bei #Tredition nicht mehr anhakeln, dass ein Buch _nicht_ in den internationalen Verkauf soll, weil ich das zB selber bei Ingram hochladen will. Wann ist die Checkbox dafür denn weggekommen? Führt jetzt zu lustigen Kollisionen und Fehlermeldungen bei #IngramSpark, dass die ISBN bereits für #BoD-Thirdparty vergeben ist. Womit wohl klar ist, wer der Großhändler zwischen Tredition und dem internationalen Vertrieb ist. Mannmannmann ... #Selfpublishing #PoD #PrintOnDemand
Nächstes Buch, selbes Spiel. Ich würde total gerne die Großdruck-Version weiterhin komfortabel im selben Buchprojekt anlegen können, aber #Tredition lässt mich nicht mehr.
