The 19th of September 2025 is a Friday, and the theme for "Jukebox Friday Night" is (drum roll, please): "Let There Be Drums".
Time for songs or music with or about drums or drummers. Onomatopoeia in the title …
King Crimson, "B'Boom" (1995)
Double drummers: Bill Bruford and Pat Mastelotto.
Jukebox Friday Night runs the theme "Art In Music" on Friday 12 September.
Art Rock, Art Pop, songs about paintings and art (visual images).
Progressive rock is often folded into the Art Rock genre, but Prog Rock is sometimes thought of as when classical themes are incorporated into the rock genre, like this –
The Nice, "Intermezzo 'Karelia Suite' " (1970)
Recorded live in Croydon's Fairfield Halls on 17 October, 1969, with the Sinfonia of London, conducted by Joseph Eger. composed by Jean Sibelius (Karelia Suite, Op. 11) in 1893.
Today marks 38 years since #Rush released their twelfth studio album, ‘Hold Your Fire,’ an often-overlooked record from an often-overlooked decade in the band’s 40+ year history.

It’s an uneven ten-track set that’s probably nobody’s favorite… but seeing “Time Stand Still” on #MTV made me buy it, and that single purchase lit the fuse on my lifelong Rush fandom.

While we’re on the subject of Genesis, one more quick one from them.
I realize I’m probably in the minority for what I’m about to say, but despite Phil Collins’ disdain for two of the three songs here, I have more affection for it.
This was the last recording they did with Steve Hackett before he bailed from the band. And although I agree with Phil about the opening track being reprehensibly dumb, this is worth owning for “Inside And Out” alone.
I’m not sure why it was left off of Wind And Wuthering, but I think THAT album would have been greatly improved by its inclusion. THAT is a cool song, with excellent guitar work throughout.
Just another morsel of conversation to add to the debates about the much-maligned post-Gabriel Genesis.
You only get one chance, and everybody's doing it. Listening to 90125 on 09/01/25. Everything Trevor Rabin did with this band was excellent. "YesWest, Yes best"

manchmal weiß man schon vor dem ersten ton, dass ein konzert fantastisch wird.
wenn es dieses jahr nur ein gig sein kann, den ihr euch live ansehen könnt, dann lasst es einen von TFNRSH sein.

New #review today: "It might be easy to think of #Skullcap as #JanelAndAnthony plus one — that one being drummer / percussionist #MikeKuhl — but the personnel is where the similarities end, as this trio forms a complete group effort, from the bold compositions to the arrangements and execution." #ExposeOnline #AvantJazz #ProgressiveRock #JanelLeppin #AnthonyPirog #CuneiformRecords http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/skullcap-snakes-of-albuquerque-3.html
