Finished my second ever quilt top! Taking to a friend who will long arm quilt it at some later point.
My Ukraine quilt top is finished!
These are the smallest Word Play letters I’ve ever done. Somehow, without measuring, I pieced that bottom line so that it was exactly 48” - the same width as the sunflower rows. I think it was meant to be

The stem stitch is the perfect embroidery stitch for curves. 
Buying cheap is always a risk. Sometimes it works out, other times you end up with a headache.
Bought a cheap set of acrylic quilt templates, turns out one of the pieces as not fully symmetric (the largest one), preventing me from making a proper square of the pieces.
Now I made myself a set of paper templates that are fully symmetric, perhaps that will work better.
I have framed my recent #quilting inspired studies and will be showing them at the upcoming @peakdistrictartisans #SpringArtFair 12/13 April. They were all supposed to be the same size but unfortunately I picked up two different sizes of Aida fabric for them so the blue one is a bit bigger

Each time I’ve made something interesting for my Let’s Play mini quilt pieces, I want to add them to my Bits & Bobs collage quilt, too!
I’m weaving more rick rack, today… 
This is the first time I’ve used a log cabin pattern. I saw this particular pattern in an issue of QuiltMaker from my mom’s stash. It was made with holiday colors but I wanted something for every day. I love how easy this was and how it turned out. I downsized it from 70in x 85in to 48in x 58in
I’m calling it Wrapped Up because I think it looks like a prettily wrapped present 
Me explaining why I’m a booster of hand-quilting even though I do not myself make quilts: “Well, my mom and sister are quilters, and my late grandma on Mom’s side, and I was in a youth quilt guild growing up.
“But I mean, I know HOW to quilt. I can contribute if there’s a quilt in a large frame for group quilting. There are a few stitches of mine in plenty of my family’s quilts….
“I’m a social quilter!”

There was a wild storm last night- momentous lightning, ground-shaking thunder, hard rain- that caught houses on fire & blew out windows. Yet today, it's as if nothing at all occurred, just sedate calm all around. Storms be that way.
