Labor is the most expensive part of repairs.

The Repair App we're working on depends on being low cost because repairs are already too expensive.

Now that #rails v8 has folded caching, queueing and pub/sub into the db and removed the need for redis, my favorite framework is even easier.

That's one less resource demanding compute and one less dependency demanding attention when stuff starts breaking.

I happen to agree a lot with @Amanda Perino here.

That’s why I almost always comment on Hacker News or any forum where I see people still spreading old narratives about #Ruby and #Rails and try to present facts and debunk false statements.

CardFlight is hiring full-time devs (more openings to be posted soon). We're looking for kind, honest, curious people who care about writing clean and thoughtful code.

- Fully remote, U.S. only, 1-2 optional onsites per year
- Little to no overtime, I spend my evenings with my kids
- Mid-level base salary is $110k-150k
- Company size: ~100 friendly, chill people
- Ruby/Rails experience a plus, but not required
- Ability to write your own code required

hey Rails folk, I need some help:

I have a hierarchical tree structure stored as an ltree in Postgres, (ex: a.b.c.d). I would like to be able to take that path, substitute the dots for slashes, and use that as a route (ex: //localhost/a/b/c/d).

My seemingly naïve approach was to make a helper to take the dot path and convert it to slashes, then add the path param to resources with a constraint. That sorta worked… but it URL-encoded the slashes.

Is there a way to not do that?
