I don't think I've touched a single raw #photo file in 2025 so far.

@laird OFC if you work with #CinemaDNG #RAW and edit off a high-speed NAS/SAN then that does require way more bandwith…
I really love #DigiKam. However, since #Gimp has learned 32bit float colors, I miss that in the DigiKam photo editor. I am tempted to open #RAW / #DNG in Gimp, which is then automatically stuffed into #Darktable for conversion.
The magic of floating point pixels isn't the huge color dynamics, it is that if you should happen to edit parts of the picture into over-exposure, you can easily get it back without damage in later steps.
#Lightworks, the #NLE / video editor I use, has set 32bit float to default for video.
Ich erwischen mich dabei, dass ich die #RAW-„Entwicklung“ von #Darktable lieber mag als die von #DigiKam. Zumal die Dateien dann direkt als 32bit-Float in #Gimp landen beim Bearbeiten.
Das ist irgendwie auch schade nach so vielen Jahren DigiKam.

Ik gebruik photoshop al wel 20 jaar als mijn favoriete en enige fotobewerkingsprogramma.
Er bestaat al langere tijd een mooi alternatief voor photoshop, maar ondanks mijn goede kennis m.b.t. fotobewerking liep ik iedere keer weer vast op darktable, want daar hebben we het hier over.
Tot voor kort, na de introductie van darktabel 5.0. Opeens zag ik het licht. En... ik vind darktable een geweldig programma.
