I wondered whether anyone else was installing 3.1 in this day and age, and the answer is “yes” apparently! <a href="https://mas.to/tags/retrocomputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>retrocomputing</span></a></p>
James Holden<p>Fixed the RISC PC power supply. Needed a new Schottky diode, and I replaced the optoisolator for good measure. Booted up fine after a CMOS reset. <a href="https://mas.to/tags/acorn" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>acorn</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/retrocomputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>retrocomputing</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/riscpc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>riscpc</span></a></p>
derSammler<p>First card freed from battery-leak damage. This Podule backplane had some very corroded contacts, but they are nice any shiny again. 🙂 </p><p><a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/Acorn" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Acorn</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/RiscPC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RiscPC</span></a> <a href="https://oldbytes.space/tags/RetroComputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RetroComputing</span></a></p>

mhd<p>Cleaning up for new year, I've got this <a href="https://tilde.zone/tags/Acorn" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Acorn</span></a> <a href="https://tilde.zone/tags/RiscPC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RiscPC</span></a> that has sustained some leaked battery damage and might have other issues I can't test right now. Otherwise it seems pretty decent, so I wonder if someone in the <a href="https://tilde.zone/tags/retrocomputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>retrocomputing</span></a> crowd would be interested.</p><p>I'd like to see it end up in good hands and maybe being brought back to life. Shipping &amp; handling only, preferably in Germany or Europe.</p>
James Holden<p>So, another day another dead PSU. I’m beginning to think that I don’t have a <a href="https://mas.to/tags/retrocomputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>retrocomputing</span></a> hobby, I actually have a “fixing leaky battery damage and repairing switch mode power supplies” hobby. At least this <a href="https://mas.to/tags/riscpc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>riscpc</span></a> power supply is easy to work on. <a href="https://mas.to/tags/vintagecomputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>vintagecomputing</span></a></p>
