It never fails to bring a smile to my face, and dare I say, it’s one of my “desert island” songs.

Oh good! Glad you like it. My friend was really into Cajun/Louisiana stuff, and would regularly go over there to visit. He collected records on the Goldband label which are great (there’s some samplers on Spotify).

When I was in music retail in the 80’s, I met a friend who compiled this tape for me of American music. He airbrushed the tape itself, and listed the tracks in the smallest, but legible writing I have seen. It’s an amazing range of work, and a precious gift that I’ve treasured ever since.

@nmz Die #Radio -landschaft in DE ist inzwischen hin. Dabei bin ich so ein eingefleischter #UKW Fan. Wenn ich allein schon unseren #NDR #Hörfunk hier oben nehme... neben dem #Kiel'er #Landesfunkhaus, aus dem früh morgens schon die alltagstaugliche Mainstream-Plörre kotzt, wohl, um die "Faulen" aus dem Bett zu treiben und zu denen machen soll, "die das Land voranbringen", gibt es noch das #Studio #Flensburg, #Heide, und #Norderstedt (womöglich gibt es weitere, jedoch... interessiert mich nicht!).
Das nur für #SchleswigHolstein! Wozu? Oder vielleicht auch: WOZU! :wink:
Ich verstehe wirklich nicht, warum für Allerweltsdudelei eine Menge Geld ausgegeben wird, während Sparten anschließend weniger wichtig und damit nicht mehr bedient werden. Dabei haben die #öffentlichrechtlichen Anstalten doch andere Dinge zu interessieren als die #Quote.
Dachte ich bisher immer so. Vom handwerklichen Drama und der grassierenden Lieblosigkeit mal ganz abgesehen. :smile:
Das ist mal so ein Fall wo ich dann doch froh bin, dass es Streaming gibt, mit so vielen Stationen, oft klein und nicht kommerziell betrieben, die soviel mehr bieten, als nur Konserven hintereinander abzuspielen. Ob guten alten #Rockabilly, #Jazz / #Bigband, #Klassik oder sonstwas.
