Slept better than expected, despite the freeway noise. It's coffee time! I'll hike with my friend at 8:30; it'll be the last time we're together until she (hopefully) joins me for a two week boat trip in early autumn. Then it's a day of chores on my way from #Quartzsite to the Holtville Hot Springs. Dump the waste tanks, fill the fresh water tank, do laundry, buy groceries. I hope to be tucked into a new campsite on BLM land long before sunset. #RVing

Wonderfully quiet night out in the desert -- after that rig a few hundred yards away either got unstuck or stopped trying in the dark -- and I slept well. Today will be another day of rock shopping, as well as a visit to the RV show. There's a booth that sells smoked turkey legs over there and I want one for lunch. #Quartzsite #RVing

Well, I've decided to take the day off from rock shopping. I'm really very burned out -- it's exhausting looking at tray after tray of loose cabochons. Instead, I'm going to lounge in the camper for a while, do the dishes, and pull out of here at exactly check out time.

I'll then take a short drive into the desert and find a spot for tonight. I'm hoping to get some writing done, fly my drone, and finish taking pictures of the stones I bought this week.

The sun is finally out. Temperature is still in the 30s, but when it warms up a little more, I think my pups and I will do the 3-mile hike around the lake. We did it by bike last time, but I think I'll get more needed exercise on foot. We're camped near the middle of the east side of the lake.

Meanwhile, my #solar panels were sucking energy out of the filtered sunlight we got through the clouds and my batteries are already up to 12.5v (from a low of 12.0v before dawn). #RVing #Nevada

There's a leak in the camper bathroom. It could be the skylight leaking rainwater overnight. That's what I'm hoping. Or it could be one of the pex pipes going into the toilet when I flush. Can't tell yet, but I have alternative ways to flush and will probably use them until I'm someplace where I can get it fixed. #RVing
