If you know a #SeniorCitizen in your neighborhood, you should talk to them about having hard copies of their important #SocialSecurity documents. And you should help them get copies if you're able and if they're willing to trust you to help them.

Or send them to the local public library for help. If it's a decent #PublicLibrary then the staff might have the time and skills to help them.

A local #SeniorCenter might also be able to help.

Good luck out there and stay frosty.

Americans older than 60 lost $3.4 billion to scammers last year, according to a new report released by the FBI on Tuesday.

ABC News reports that "tech support fraud was the No. 1 crime type impacting complainants older than 60. Tech support scams, according to the FBI, usually involve scammers claiming to be support from a legitimate company and informing the victim of fraudulent activity or potential refund for a subscription service."

I'm rather abruptly aware that it's very common for strangers to address me as "sir" on the street and in other public places. "Pardon me, sir." "Would you like this seat on the subway, sir?" A sign of getting older, or at least of appearing to be "of a certain age." But surely it wasn't nearly as abrupt as it seems to me. I'm not bothered by it, but I'm definitely curious about how it developed. I wish that I'd taken notes on the transition. #SeniorCitizen #GettingOlder #ageism

Life's Autumn

It is the autumn of my life,
and I find myself alone.
The winds of solitude,
chilling me to the bone.

Perhaps in time,
I'll find someone new.
A loving mate,
to turn my lips red-hot from blue.
