Since learning about this #fort (Castillo) when I was a college student, it became my favorite in the western hemisphere. The way that it rises from the rock with its imposing walls, dry moats, and firing positions in all directions always stood out to me.

The harbor of #havana was also full of people fishing both from shore and from boats, some of which were homemade using blocks to old styrofoam. In some cases, we even saw people spear fishing.

Today is the anniversary of a pivotal battle in the Seven Years' War (1756 - 1763) between Britain and France. The Battle of Quebec took place on September 13th 1759 at the Plains of Abraham and led to the loss of Quebec City by the French.

Not to be confused with the Battle of Quebec in 1775 which was a failed American attempt to invade Canada and encourage French-Canadians to revolt.
