“The goal is never to be like, ‘See if we can make him cry!’” said star and executive producer Bridget Everett of the latter. “It’s more like, let’s see if it resonates. We just wanted the show to feel like a slice of life. It’s that ‘Steel Magnolias’ laughter-through-tears thing. I laugh and cry all the time, as many people do. The goal was to make things feel real."

"As the outside world continues to disappoint, I prefer the reality of 'Somebody Somewhere' and its ilk," concludes Schneider.

#Iwatched #Shrinking which everyone is watching so I don't have to explain. EXCEPT for the fact that at the end of season 1 this dramedy has already abandoned the comedy part in favour of lots of mushy feelings. It was always a bit cringy, but I didn't expect them to use initial gags to rope us in for ever more of that shit. And Season 2 just gets worse. I'm done. I'm gonna watch #ColinFromAccounts again or #Lovesick. A lot of series managed to keep up the funny with worse odds than Shrinking.

The #Shrinking season finale was amazing. This show is definitely one of the best comedy-dramas of all time. It's rare that a show has me laughing and crying at the same time. The cast and the writing are just perfect. 10/10

There are two TV shows recently that have handled forgiveness, grace, and redemption so well that have moved me to tears multiple times. They also made me laugh and made me angry at times.
