I finally got around to cutting the soap from 13 August. It now looks like a nice cheddar cheese, complete with dried edges.
It turned out decently. It's actually soap instead of the oily mess I've been making. It needs more fragrance, but the color seems alright. 6/10 from me.
Gipsplatte mit Relief nach oben ins Schächtele gelegt, mit Silikon abgegossen, Ergebnis rechts. Mein erster Versuch, die Silikonmatte so zu lassen und mit selbstgemachter Gießseife (rechts im Bild) auszugießen scheiterte. Die Idee war, nur die Struktur auszugießen, bzw. die Überschüsse abzuheben. Aber die Strukturen waren zu fein dafür. Als Test war es aber gut und zum Glück hatte ich keinen Seifenleim angerührt dafür, denn die Matte passte so nicht in die Seifenform. Das hatte ich noch nicht getestet.

Nach einer halben Stunde war das gegossene Material fest und ich konnte das knetbare Zeug von der neuen Platte lösen.

Zwei Abdrücke waren verhunzt. Zum Glück lagen die gegenüber voneinander, sodass ich die Platte einfach kürzen konnte. Der wulstige Rand dient als Auslaufschutz für das nächste Abformmaterial. Das härtet schneller aus als die Modelliermasse, sodass ich die hinterher wieder ablösen kann.

J'ai fait mon #savon à vaisselle avec du gras de récup ! (Friteuse, fondue bourguignonne) pas très appétissant, mais une fois saponifié on fait pas là différence pour du produit vaisselle. Un batch comme ça dure environ 2 ans
I made my dish #soap with used fats from cooking. The fats smell when melting but once saponified, you wouldn't notice, and its for dishes. A natch with 1409g oils lasts about 2 years or more for me.

This is the ugliest soap I’ve ever made. The color is a gross green-ish gray with lots of soda ash (which i don’t really care about). Smells wonderful, though, thanks to the Shave and a Haircut scent from Brambleberry. Seems to be on the right path to being a good soap after a few more weeks of curing.
