Not every lens is about perfection.

Some are about soul, flaws, and a certain kind of magic that modern glass just doesn’t give you.

This was shot with one of my favourite vintage Russian lenses — a Helios 44 — mounted on my Leica. Softness, swirls, character... exactly what I love for personal work and storytelling photography.

I just published a new blog post about why I use old Soviet lenses on my Leica M10, M6 and M3 — and why these imperfect tools still matter today.

This is the port in Puerto de Santiago village, near the cliffs of Los Gigantes. I took this photo with the Helios 44M-4 lens from 1984. I don't know why, but somehow I like that shot. :)

Gear:
• Sony α350
• Helios 44M-4 (Valdai 1984)
• Pixco M42-Sony AF Adapter
