For this lamp the polypropylene cover of the pump and electric motor has been repurposed as a lampshade. The polypropylene is hand painted in flat black enamel paint, finished of with several layers of spray paint...

A Space Shuttle solid rocket booster. There were two boosters attached to the large external fuel tank onto which the Shuttle was mounted for launch into orbit. The two boosters were recovered & reused. The external tank was lost when it fell into the ocean. The Challenger disaster, resulting in the lost of the entire launch assembly including its seven astronauts, was due to one of these boosters leaking & causing the fuel tank to explode.
