Gestern wurde das Gravel-Bike endlich aus dem Winterschlaf geholt.

Bei tollstem #Frühlingswetter durchquerte ich meine Kind- und Jugendheimat, den #Kaiserstuhl , von Süd nach Nord über den Totenkopf und #Texaspass auf nahezu allen Wegarten, was die Tour superabwechslungsreich machte.

Went to the Botanical Gardens today, spring is very much evident

This deep blue sky has a wonderful colour but is a sign that the night will be frosty with minus degrees. After more than +20°C, we had a sudden temperature drop last evening. Today only 9°C with a strong and icy NE wind.
I love that time when the edges of the forests and the orchards explose in green, white and rose. The green of April is the most beautiful one!

A vast meadow, still mostly green, with view into the distance and of a flawless blue sky from a meadow. To the left, roughly in the middle ground and in the distance on a flat hill, the edges of the forest begin to green and blossom: bird cherries, blackthorns, wild plums. This is also where it first turns lush green. But a very light veil of green can already be seen on the tops of the forest in the distance.

One of my favourite times of the year: when the trees start to turn green and everything is in bloom at the edge of the forest and in the Streuobst-Wiesen.

From this high up, you can see some transformations for the good that are taking place, like this array of #SolarPanels that has been installed. Such collective action is helping to transform the way electricity is generated in the UK. On a sunny day like this, #SolarEnergy can provide more than a third of the power needs of the country, even outstripping #WindEnergy generation.

The lowest observation level of the #SpinnakerTower features a #GlassFloor for those who dare to stand on it and see how high up they’re standing. I must confess to having fear of heights but I did manage to stand in the middle of the glass deck and look down.

The platform wonderful affords views the #land and the #sea almost all the way around. Here, for example, you can see a #PassengerFerry bound for the Isle of Wight, which can be seen across the strait (the #Solent). The town on the over side of the bay is #Gosport.
