When there was still an early warning system in place.

Ask yourself: was this a #RedOrBlue tornado ?
Ask yourself: can your #RedOrBlue state finance relief and rescue ?
Ask yourself: will your #RedOrBlue state be able to provide an early warning ?
Ask yourself: is this president allowed to stay on ? Isn't it time to resist ?

Let's not play blame, let's look at what is at stake !

I am so sick of rain!
The east coast of NSW has been inundated with a 500 year flooding event. An East Coast Low has cause it all.
The map attached only show the areas where I live, thankfully I live on a slight hill (blue dot) and at the moment it's "Watch & Act" but it's really bad.
I have a small weather station in my yard and have had over 460mm (18") of rain since Saturday morning - & it's still raining.
It's supposed to start clearing on the weekend.
Sadly four people have died and over 50,000 people have been evacuated. Thousands are isolated.

"47 DEAD and NO HELP: Red States Face Tornado Destruction With No FEMA After Trump Cuts" [14:15 min]
by Hawk's Podcasts / mdg650hawk

Quote by HP:
"May 21, 2025
Hawk examines the devastating consequences of the Trump administration's elimination of FEMA and Elon Musk's DOGE group slashing the National Weather Service workforce by 40%. With nearly 50 people dead from recent tornadoes across Missouri, Kentucky, Virginia, and Arkansas, we're witnessing the real-world impact of these dangerous cuts in predominantly Republican states.
The timing couldn't be worse - hurricane season begins June 1st, with no federal emergency response system in place. Sarah Huckabee Sanders' desperate pleas for federal assistance after Arkansas tornadoes were rejected by Trump, who has pushed disaster response back to state governments without funding.
Hawk breaks down how crucial tornado warnings work, why timing is essential for survival, and why the gutting of the National Weather Service's 24/7 forecasting capabilities is potentially catastrophic. With 5,000 expert meteorologists and forecasters eliminated and 40% of local weather offices severely understaffed, the system that provides life-saving minutes of warning before tornadoes strike is hanging by a thread.
Most alarming? The states most dependent on FEMA for hurricane response - Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina - all overwhelmingly voted for Trump, who has now abandoned them before the most dangerous weather season begins."

I'm tracking the current line of #storms with #RadarScope, which is the same app that showed me the #tornado that dropped in May, 2019.

One minute it was this angry, red, rotating blob all by itself on the radar screen, and the next minute, it dropped a big ole twister south of town. That twister was then on the ground for 32 miles!

The thing I no longer have now is the friend who is a trained weather spotter (that went with the ex). He was watching the same cell I was, and warned us about how quickly it had changed.

One minute he said, "I don't know if the sirens are going off but, nothing to worry about right now. The rotation is super weak and broad."

The next minute he was like, find shelter!

Continued thread

The severe weather risk stretches more than 1,200 miles in total, with intense #storms predicted to reach as far as East #Texas to the Mid-#Atlantic through the weekend. After this #storm system winds down, another is expected to pick up to the west, with strong #tornadoes in the forecast by Sunday for parts of the #GreatPlains.
