A: Oh, dug through menus in a new AV receiver to find its MAC addresses, configured my network DHCP server to give it a static address, and then wrote some iptables rules to keep that address from being able to reach outside the LAN. Pretty standard stuff.

Looking for a "DO NOT CONNECT THIS MACHINE TO THE INTERNET NO MATTER HOW MUCH IT NAGS" warning sign to print out.

After #Firefox enabled #Sponsored Shortcuts and #telemetry AGAIN by itself I got *a bit* annoyed. Like I get it, they need to make money somehow, and gather some data. But if I opt out, then I opt out, and don't think about it anymore.
So trying out #Waterfox. Really nothing fancy, Firefox ESR but with this stuff turned off and some privacy-focused tweaks enabled by default. And it has an #android version (not ERS though).
So far really content with it. Keep up the good work, @Waterfox

A split-screen view of a Formula 1 qualifying session. The top half shows a live telemetry dashboard with lap times, sector data, tire compounds, and a track map. The track map highlights current car positions and includes sector timings. The timing screen lists each driver's best lap time, current tire choice (mostly soft compounds), and whether they are on an out lap, flying lap, or in the pits.

The bottom half shows a live TV broadcast of the qualifying session on SPORT DIRECT. A pink and black Formula 1 car, possibly an Alpine or similar livery, is exiting a corner close to the edge of the track. On-screen graphics show real-time sector times for drivers Doohan, Hadjar, and Lawson, with Hadjar +0.587s off the reference and Lawson -0.245s ahead.

The left side leaderboard shows Lando Norris (NOR) in first place with a 1:27.805 lap time, followed closely by Piastri, Verstappen, and Albon.

@mauro Oh dear oh dear. So they stuffed up recent comms; that's all that happened -- nothing actually changed adversely in the browser itself. It's been clarified already, & furthermore disabling #telemetry & #ai is elementary, both directly in the UI, & also in about:config, after doing which, even for the most Qanony conspiracist, what actually is the terrifying danger? Furthermore, Thunderbird is not even part of Mozilla anymore, & were entirely unaffected by any of this storm in a teacup. It's hilarious to observe humans behaving like stampeding cattle.
