Yesterday we came across an interesting and unusual feature that we've never encountered before in mountains (outside of Kamchatka in 2013). A deep crack/crevice was found near the summit of Morron de Enmedio at 1098m in the Sierra Elvira. Coming up out of the crack was a constant strong blast of warm wind. This feature (the Raja Santa cavity) is just west of the summit if you want to experience this for yourselves. Natural warming for a cold winters day!

This is a #BrotherEP45 #thermal #typewriter running off a USB power pack. I use a couple of barrel pigtails cross-wired to get the needed "center negative" and a weird USB-to-barrel thing to plug those into. USB end goes into lightweight USB power pack, other end goes into typewriter. Boom, USB powered 80s thermal typewriter

(The tape you see is due to some structural problems not connected to the power test. Shrink soldering and tubing to come)

I'd assume by 2100 we'll basically mandate buildings to be "energy positive" except historic buildings just out of need to have everyone supply into the #grid...

  • We'll likely have more fluctuating #EnergyPrices so people will prefer to cook and do laundry at peak energy output in the lunchtime...

I'd rather see #DESERTEC done than #Fusion #PowerPlants simply because of #cost and #scalability reasons: A #solarthermal #PowerPlant is way easier to build and maintain than #NuclearEnergy will ever be because both are #thermal and controlling #reactors is more complex than making just water/oil/salt "go phlooosh" through black pipes heated by sunlight off parabolic mirrors...

  • Potentially we'll see multiple giant setups in deserts around the globe if not #offshore in #tropical areas...

Instead of helping the soldiers, the camouflage highlighted them for drone operator

I ordered a handful of either module and tested them thoroughly.
Both support all relevant #usbPD profiles including PPS and a bunch of other fast charge protocols.
Thermally they behave pretty good aswell. Both #thermal pictures were taken after about 15min of 24V input and 60/95W load in open air.
The hottest component of the 100W module is the 5A SMD fuse with over 100°C :D
But our planned thermal solution should improve things a lot ^^
