Discontinuing GLP1 medications led to a pooled overall mean weight regain of 9.69 kg (or about 22 lbs in patients prescribed semaglutide/tirzepatide. The proportion of weight regained was proportional to the amount originally lost.

Discontinuation of GLP-1RA treatment leads to weight regain, regardless of lifestyle interventions, and should therefore be considered a chronic therapy to prevent weight regain and associated undesirable outcomes related to #Obesity.

#Tirzepatide ad in the theater: one of the possible side effects listed as "inflamed pancreas." That feels like a scummy way to avoid saying #pancreatitis. It's no fun. But it's a rare side-effect at least. I'm on #dulaglutide which also has that as a rare side-effect. But I had already developed #ChronicPancreatitis at that point, so, kinda water under the bridge for me at least.

In this large clinical analysis of US adults with overweight or #Obesity who initiated #Tirzepatide or #Semaglutide treatment, those receiving tirzepatide were more likely to achieve 5% or greater, 10% or greater, and 15% or greater weight loss and experienced larger reductions in body weight at 3, 6, and 12 months. To our knowledge, this study represents the first clinical comparative effectiveness study of tirzepatide and semaglutide in adults with overweight or obesity.

When you stop these #miracle #cures the #weight is likely to return unless you can to #exercise & change your #diet without them. If you could do that you wouldn't need the #drug.
